vocabulary of CCTV

- robbery: be lost/ stolen by a theft (highway robbery = daylight robbery)
- burglary: a crime connected to another crime who enter someone's house illegal
- incident: an event which is either unpleasant or unusual

- warden: US the person in charge of a prison: a prison warden

CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) is a visual surveillance technology designed for monitoring a variety of environments and activities. CCTV systems typically involve a fixed (or "dedicated") communications link between cameras and monitors

- surveillance: supervision, the careful watching of a person or place because crime has happened or is expected
- surveillance initiatives:a new action or movement, often intended to solve a problem
- the video surveillance boom (filming): is held above the actors so that it records their voices but cannot be seen by the viewers
- dedicated: specialized designed to be used for one particular purpose
system of cameras with full pan, tilt, zoom and infrared capacity
- pan: (of a film camera) to move slowly from one side to another or up and down
- tilt: as fast as possible
- zoom (lens): (a device in a camera) can be attached to a camera, make the thing being photographed appear nearer
- infrared: a type of light that feels warm but cannot be seen
- assault: a violent attack
- to liter: to spread across an area or place untidily
- to urinate: to excrete urine from the body
- to excrete: to get rid of waste material
- urine: the yellowish liquid waste which is released from the body when you go to the toilet
